went to chapters yesterday and went on a reading binge. this is usually what my saturday night consist of, shopping for new reads and enjoying the nice weather, but I decided to check out some new additions to the graphic novels section. Little did I know, I would find nothing short of awesome:
that's Alex Ross' new sketchbook release this year. Little under 300 pages, it shows a lot of his process work, inkings and finals done in colour. Needless to say, it rekindled my interest again in comic book art! I love that it's almost technical because you DO need to know a lot about anatomy and composition. I wish I had gotten it, but I thought it would be like 40-50. it's 24.95 CDN online!
Instead, I picked up a watercolour tutorial book and leafing over Fables novels (with delicious cover art done by James Jean) I can't wait to get started and get some full work done!
